Upcoming Animated Musical Comedy "WISH" Set for Nov. 22 Theatrical Debut

In an exciting revelation, Walt Disney Animation Studios has shared a brand-new trailer, poster, and images for their upcoming musical comedy, WISH. Scheduled to enchant audiences on November 22, 2923 with its theatrical release in the United States, the film promises a magical journey filled with humor and heart.

WISH invites audiences into the enchanting kingdom of Rosas. The story revolves around Asha, a quick-witted idealist, whose fervent wish attracts the attention of a cosmic force known as Star, a boundless energy entity. Together, Asha and Star embark on a journey to confront their most formidable adversary—the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico. Their mission: to save their community and prove that the fusion of human determination and cosmic magic can create extraordinary wonders.

Disney has also introduced additional members of the film’s talented voice cast, joining the previously announced stars. Ariana DeBose takes on the role of the 17-year-old heroine, Asha, with Chris Pine lending his voice to the formidable King Magnifico, and Alan Tudyk providing the memorable voice for Asha’s endearing pet goat, Valentino.

Joining this stellar lineup are several new cast members, including, Angelique Cabral portraying Queen Amaya, the wife and trusted confidante of King Magnifico; Victor Garber embodying Asha’s wise and patient grandfather, Sabino, who eagerly awaits the fulfillment of his own wish at the age of 100; and Natasha Rothwell in the role of Asha’s loving and supportive mother, Sakin
Asha’s circle of close friends, protectors, and confidants also includes Jennifer Kumiyama as Dahlia, Asha’s closest friend, an accomplished baker, and the unofficial leader of their group; Evan Peters as Simon, a strong-hearted individual with a heart as big as his yawn; Harvey Guillén as Gabo, a character with a heart of gold, despite his cynical outlook; Ramy Youseff as Safi, who faces the constant challenge of allergies; Niko Vargas as Hal, Asha’s joyful and ever-smiling companion; Della Saba as Bazeema, a seemingly shy teenager with a few surprises up her sleeve; and Jon Rudnitsky as Dario, Asha’s rosy-cheeked and endearing friend.

Steering the creative helm are Oscar-winning director Chris Buck (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Fawn Veerasunthorn (“Raya and the Last Dragon”), with production led by Peter Del Vecho (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) and Juan Pablo Reyes Lancaster Jones (“Encanto”). Jennifer Lee (“Frozen,” “Frozen 2”) serves as executive producer, and she collaborates with Allison Moore (“Night Sky,” “Manhunt”) on the screenplay.

Original songs for WISH are crafted by Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Julia Michaels, paired with Grammy-winning producer/songwriter/musician Benjamin Rice. The film’s score is composed by Dave Metzger.

WISH promises to be a heartwarming and magical cinematic experience, with its theatrical debut scheduled exclusively for November 22, 2023.
