Illumination & Universal Studios set to debut Despicable Me 4 in theaters on July 3, 2024!

Illumination Entertainment & Universal Pictures is bringing back Gru, the infamous supervillain turned Anti-Villain — League Agent, in the highly anticipated return of Despicable Me 4. After a seven-year hiatus, fans can expect a bold new era of Minions mayhem that follows the success of Minions: The Rise of Gru in 2022, which grossed nearly $1 billion worldwide during the summer blockbuster season.

Gru (portrayed by Oscar® nominee Steve Carell) and Lucy (Oscar® nominee Kristen Wiig) along with their daughters Margo (Miranda Cosgrove), Edith (Dana Gaier), and Agnes (Madison Polan) are ready to welcome a new member to the Gru family—Gru Jr.. However, Gru Jr. has mischievous intentions and seeks to torment his father, adding chaos to the already lively family dynamic.

DESPICABLE ME 4 ENEMY

Maxime Le Mal (played by Emmy winner Will Ferrell), and his girlfriend Valentina (portrayed by Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara), emerge as Gru’s newest foes. In this new adventure, the Gru family is compelled to flee their home, resulting in an exciting adventure brimming with unforeseen surprises and plot twists.

Despicable Me 4 introduces a host of new characters voiced by talents such as Joey King (Bullet Train), Emmy winner Stephen Colbert (The Late Show with Stephen Colbert), and Chloe Fineman (Saturday Night Live). Pierre Coffin reprises his role as the iconic voice of the Minions, while Oscar® nominee Steve Coogan returns as Silas Ramsbottom.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Directed by Chris Renaud, co-creator of the Minions and an Oscar® nominee for Despicable Me and The Secret Life of Pets, the film is a collaboration between Illumination’s visionary founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and Brett Hoffman, the executive producer of The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Minions: The Rise of Gru. Co-director Patrick Delage, known for his work on Sing 2 and The Secret Life of Pets 2, adds his expertise to the project.
